Mechanical Segment Timer

Mechanical segment timer‌ is a device that uses a mechanical device to set and trigger time. It mainly achieves time measurement by driving the mechanical vibration system through a spring or gravitational potential energy. Mechanical timers are usually composed of parts such as springs, gear transmission mechanisms and time control components.

1. Spring: Made of elastic steel strip, wound up by knob, store potential energy. When the spring relaxes, it releases stored energy and transmits power to the gear transmission and time control components.‌

3. Time control assembly: One or two sets of cams are used to distribute time. When the control CAM rotates, its convex and concave positions are constantly changed to connect or disconnect the contacts of the relevant contact reeds as designed to control the operation and stop of the motor (or other electrical appliance)‌‌.‌

The usage method of mechanical segment timers is relatively simple. Users can control the time by setting the tightness of the spring through the knob and trigger the bell or other signals at the predetermined time.
